Beta Phi Gamma has led the way
for other sororities to be founded. They were established October 13, 1976 as
a local sorority. Beta Phi prides themselves on their unique sisters, bonded
by the sisterhood. Academics come first and foremost to Beta Phi Gamma.
The sisters are members of many outstanding Academic Honor Societies,
including: Education, Psychology, Political Science and the Greek Honor
Societies. We strive to create leaders within our chapter and on campus as
well. Sisters of Beta Phi are volleyball, cheerleading, and basketball
captains. They are also class officers on Student Senate, peer counselors,
reporters for the Lycourier, and photographers for the yearbook. Other
organizations Beta Phi participates in include FLOAT, choir and tour choir,
Study Buddies, Panhellenic Council, CAB, Lycoming Republicans and Democrats,
and Colleges Against Cancer. The sisters also like to give back to the
community with a variety of service projects. Beta Phi Gamma’s
philanthropy is the Make a Wish foundation, which helps make the dreams of children
with life threatening diseases come true. We also pride ourselves in
contributing to a variety of causes. Other service projects include, visiting
the elderly in Manor Care, organizing after school activities for the
children at Steven’s Elementary, sweater drives, holiday food drives,
Operation Christmas Child, Red Cross blood drive, Big Brother/Big Sister,
Ronald McDonald House, Aids Walk, and the Relay for Life. |
